It may well be that people and circumstances have not been kind to you. Yet by harbouring revengeful feelings and thoughts you are punishing yourself the most.
Forgiving is a powerful tool that will initiate a major shift in your perception: no longer you’ll be a victim of the circumstances and/or other(s); you’ll be free to move on with your life.
In the Forgiveness and Healing Retreat you’ll be guided towards letting go of your pain, anger and bitterness towards the person or persons that hurt you; thus creating space for more self acceptance, harmony and joy.
When we feel we’ve been deeply hurt by someone – parents, a colleague or a partner – the anger and bitterness we feel towards the other person(s), will colour our own experiences and the interactions we have with others.
While we stockpile every traumatic memory, embarrassment and heartbreak, we only end up with the burden of each one ourselves.
Do you feel you’re mentally and emotionally stuck, endlessly rehashing past turmoil? Are you so wrapped up in the past that it’s hard to enjoy the present? Then THIS is the moment to let it all go .. by starting to FORGIVE.
Because when someone you care about hurts you, you can either hold on to anger, resentment and thoughts of revenge — or embrace forgiveness and move forward.
By forgiving, you are accepting the reality of what happened and finding a way to live in a state of resolution with it.
The act that hurt or offended you might always be with you, but forgiveness can lessen its grip on you and help free you from the control of the person or persons who harmed you.
As, being continuously engaged in a mental and emotional battle with other(s), you also surrender a big part of your autonomy, ultimately feeling helpless and victimized.
Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting or excusing the harm done to you or making up with the person(s) who caused the harm : it means YOU decide to let go of your grudge. Neither is it something you do for the person(s) who wronged you; it’s something good you do for YOU.
Forgiving will improve your self esteem and leads to healthier relationships. Your immune system will get a boost and so will your mental health: you will experience less stress and hostility, anxiety and depression.
Forgiveness can even lead to feelings of understanding, empathy and compassion.
By forgiving both the other(s) and yourself (!), pain and bitterness can make way for improved health and peace of mind.
This may all sound good in theory, in practice forgiveness can sometimes feel impossible.
Consciously you may decide to forgive and thus free yourself from grief and grudges, but sub-conscious levels can hold a firm grip on your emotions, making it hard to detach yourself from the painful feelings and memories.
Consequently, to reclaim your connection with your life – with joy and vitality – it is of the utmost importance to clear your sub-conscious of everything that’s not aligned with your new resolve : old believe systems, behavioral programs, emotions and attachments.
This is where Healing is needed.
This will have an immediate impact on your emotional and mental health and will transform the negative feelings of misery and victim hood.
All of that on the lush and mystical island of Bali where smiles are genuine.
